2012 Subaru WRX STI

2010 Los Angeles Auto Show Subaru will present a possible Impreza Concept design, a preliminary version of the next-generation Impreza. Based on this concept, Jonsibal imagined that version WRX STI will look like, and we say, if the production version looks anything like it, it will surely be a success.

The design concept is defined theme of "Dynamic, Seductive, Secure". Starting with this theme, version WRX STI adds the necessary wheel arches, the upper intercooler, as well as that massive wing on the back.

The standard Impreza, is expected to open in early 2011. It will continue to offer the same 2.5-liter boxer engine, but rumors are rumors that the hybrid version will also be available for the first time in a Subaru. WRX STI model will follow in a few months since sales began in early 2012.

UPDATE 07/14/2011: New details about the next generation Subaru Impreza WRX suggest that, since 2014, Impreza WRX and go their separate ways. What this means is that the car will simply be called Subaru WRX will be a completely different car. According to MotorTrend source: "Except for a few nuts and bolts, each piece will be unique on the WRX engine and even the body is obvious platform WRX will be inherited by the new Impreza, but it will be radically altered and greatly reduced ..."

Exterior and interior
Taking a good look at the design concept Impreza will provide a pretty good idea of what the production version will look like. Add a little sporty and aggressive, and the result will be version WRX STI.

There will be aa hexagonal lattice with outstretched wings in the center and the eye of the hawk-style headlamps, while the rear gets a side dish, which radiates outward from the center, with sharp edges, the rear lights and new taillamp. STI version will be different wheel arches, the top-mount intercooler, and the mass of the wings on his back. Some cool points are added to the carbon fiber hood and darkened fog lights.

The interior offers sport seats covered with leather, aluminum paste, a three-spoke wheels and a long list of technologies, including Bluetooth, a navigation system, IPod capability, and XM / Sirius radio.

Engine
The concept is powered by a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated Boxer engine paired with a continuously variable transmission Lineartronic (CVT). However, according to STI, we expect to see a turbocharged version of the 2.5-liter boxer engine with more than 305 HP. The engine will be mated to a fully synchronized close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission.

Competition
Of course, the closest competitor for the Subaru Impreza WRX STI is the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X. If we had to choose between the two, we choose the Impreza. It's more aerodynamic, higher performance, this all-wheel-drive, and looks better.
